Smathering Bliss

About a month ago the wonderfully creative talented Dayna Collins invited some friends down for an artful play date. She creates these pieces of art with plaster and stencils and wood and wax and and and... Not knowing the "real" name of all of this, I asked her if she would show me how to SMATHER - she knew immediately what it was that I was wanting to learn from her.

Monday morning I take off to Salem for my day of smathering. As I was driving down the highway I started to get this giddy feeling. It dawned on me that since graduation, I really haven't spent a whole day of doing something that I really wanted to do with people I wanted to be with. I was so excited to see everyone and to spend my day smathering.

At the end of the day, Dayna suggests that I go outside by the basketball court and pose with my masterpieces. Sitting on the pavement, hearing the sound of the basketball, feeling the warmth of the sun ~ I love how I had just spent my day.

Thank you Dayna for helping me get that feeling back - smathering is definitely on my "Post O" list!
