I started my morning walks this morning. 8AM I threw on a pair of jeans and an old t-shirt, brushed my teeth and opened the front door to the crisp warm sunny air of Autumn. I love the feel of its' air and I love its' smell. Melancholy coolness is setting in - the feel of something about to end. The smell reminds me of childhood walks to school and back; finding and catching the wonderful caterpillars and grasshoppers. I love my trees whose leaves began to fall today.
This morning's walk was full of much needed introspection. It ended with the reminder that school is starting and with that I needed new KNEE SOCKS! Yes, those precious new socks that I so highly covet each year.
And of course the only thing needed with knee socks is.....my #405 Silver City! Each Autumn for me begins with these two.
Returning home with my purchases I stopped by my mailbox and there inside was a note from my friend Pete. His words were needed today and my new Spirit Circle will be in my pocket now on all my morning walks.
Thank you for arriving this morning Autumn - I love you and I love my new knee socks! And thank you Pete for your never ending spirit of friendship.

Thanks for sharing these thoughts, Bobbie. Rituals and habits can be so reassuring to each of us. New guitar strings come to mind, but not just for Autumn. Believe it or not, your Spirit is alive and well on FB and in your blogsite.
